This week’s Woman Crush Wednesday is Oregon State Representative Courtney Neron

As an educator and mother, I am focused on the future. I know firsthand the importance of a strong public education, affordable housing, accessible health care, and environmental stewardship. I am invested in the livability of our region for generations to come.
Growing up in Tigard, Oregon, my heroes were my teachers who modeled compassion and encouraged me to stand up for what is right. Whether service clubs or athletics, student government or political organizations, theater or parent groups, community involvement and communication have always been a part of my life.
I love inspiring, empowering, and educating young people. For nearly a decade I have taught French and Spanish in Yamhill-Carlton, Tualatin, and Tigard High Schools and recently resigned to pursue public office to be able to support staff and students in public education in a different way. In my seat in the House of Representatives, I want to ensure schools have smaller class sizes and better funding. I will work hard to fund the education that students and teachers deserve.
I will work toward safer communities, logical transportation solutions and necessary environmental protections. I want to advocate for working families by supporting equal pay for equal work, paid family medical leave, and affordable childcare. Sitting on the House Education Committee, House Veterans and Emergency Preparedness Committee, and the Joint Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Natural Resources affords me the opportunity to bring my constituents’ voices to Salem. I am honored to serve House District 26.
