When I fell in love with my husband, I heard so many stories of his badass Grandma Esther, who ran a bar & restaurant and used it to support her family in a time when working women were uncommon and where there was little accountability for men who “stepped out” on their families.

I loved this article that popped up on my feed today about Dr. Alex Ketchum, who is mapping America’s forgotten feminist restaurants, and I wanted to take a moment today to share it with you….

“The feminist restaurant was “a place where community could be built around food,” Ketchum says. “Places where cooking wasn’t antithetical to women’s liberation.”
