Today, I want to talk about Thelma Johnson Streat.

Thelma was a multi-talented artist who graduated from Washington High School in Portland, and recieved formal training at the Museum Art School in Portland. 

She created art focusing on the experiences of Black Americans, specifically women. Her art is featured internationally and she used it to raise funds for groups supporting trades education for people of color.
